SMS Consent Language

Last updated: July 27, 2026

Chroma sends event update text messages to guests on behalf of event hosts. Where a host collects guest phone numbers outside of Chroma — on their own RSVP form, invitation, registration page, or ticketing flow — the host is required to display Chroma's consent language at the point of collection. Hosts cannot import guest phone numbers into Chroma without confirming that this language was used.

Required consent language

Hosts must display the following, verbatim:

☐ I agree to receive event update text messages from Chroma about {Event Name}. Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help.

{Event Name} is replaced with the name of the specific event the guest is attending. No other substitutions or edits are permitted.

How hosts must display it

  • Place the consent language directly adjacent to the field where the guest enters their phone number.
  • Present it as a checkbox that is unchecked by default. The guest must actively select it.
  • The guest must be able to decline and still complete the RSVP or registration. SMS consent may not be a condition of attending the event.
  • Do not import any guest who did not affirmatively agree.

What guests receive

Guests who opt in receive event update messages from Chroma about the specific event they were invited to — schedule times, locations, reminders, and changes. Guests may reply to these messages to communicate with their host. Message frequency varies by event. Message and data rates may apply.

Opting out and getting help

Guests can reply STOP at any time to any Chroma message to stop receiving messages for that event. They will receive a confirmation that no further messages will be sent.

Guests can reply HELP at any time to receive Chroma's contact information and support details.

Privacy

Chroma does not share or sell guest mobile numbers with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
